‘RE-IMAGININGS’, by Mai-Thu Perret and Una Szeemann, is scheduled to run at LAC from 15 November 2026 to 16 May 2027. Its public opening is scheduled for Saturday 14 November at 18:00 at LAC.
The exhibition brings together the artists’ two solo presentations, conceived as a single exhibition project.
For the project, Perret and Szeemann selected more than twenty works from the MASI collection and placed their own works in dialogue with those holdings. ‘RE-IMAGININGS’ is the first exhibition curated at MASI by director Letizia Ragaglia.
The exhibition presents Mai-Thu Perret, born in 1976 in Geneva, and Una Szeemann, born in 1975 in Locarno.
Although they work with different languages, Perret and Szeemann share an interest in temporality, matter and the feminine imaginary; their research brings together myth, nature and narrative, offering new keys for reading the museum’s heritage and opening perspectives on its future. The project reflects MASI’s vision of itself as a global institution with local roots, one that invites international artists to reinterpret its collection and the Ticino context.
