The exhibition 'Still Life, Then and Now' will open during Frieze Week, with an opening reception scheduled for 14 October from 6 to 8.30pm. It will run from 15 October to 18 December.
The exhibition brings together more than 20 works spanning 400 years, with the selection charting the development of still-life painting across that period. Its stated focus is the enduring appeal and changing meaning of still life from the 16th century to today, including how relationships with objects and material goods have changed over time.
Its nineteenth-century representation includes Henri Fantin-Latour and Victoria Dubourg, while the modernist selection includes Pablo Picasso, Juan Gris, Nicolas de Staël, Philip Guston and Andy Warhol.
The announced historical-to-contemporary range also includes contemporary artists Poppy Jones and Asher Liftin.
