Episode 1 of ‘In A Silent Way’ is dated 15 September 2026 and forms the opening instalment of a three-part podcast series accompanying the ‘In a Silent Way’ exhibition series.
The outdoor sculptures around the SCHIRN encourage attentive perception of our surroundings, while the exhibition series changes and grows with the seasons.
Artists Katja Mater, Margaret Raspé and Bernhard Schreiner incorporate unconventional, ephemeral materials—or the environment itself—directly into their work, including plants, raindrops, sunlight and the shadows cast by them.
Works in the project include Bernhard Schreiner’s ‘Instant Sonification (Local real-time composition, N 50° 7′ 16″ E 8° 39′ 10″)’ (2026), Margaret Raspé’s ‘Regentrommeln’ (1988/2023) and Katja Mater’s ‘HIC. EST. TUUM. HORA. 50° 07′ 16″ N 08° 39′ 12″ E’ (2026).
