Éva Mag’s solo exhibition ‘Berättelser utan början’ runs at Marabouparken konsthall in Sundbyberg, Sweden, from 24 October 2026 through 7 March 2027. A vernissage is scheduled for 24 October 2026.
In the kunsthalle’s large hall, Mag will show an installation comprising a landscape of welded metal, fired and unfired clay. Its forms include uprooted root masses, vessels and thorny branches. The landscape is both the world around us and an inner place. The installation can be thought to represent the troubled time in which we live, with war and catastrophes, humanity’s attempts to navigate chaos, and vitality and the will to survive.
Mag works primarily with sculpture and installation, often in dialogue with performance and choreography. Her works explore the body as a narrative and material site, with the human body and the sculptural body serving as points of departure for investigations of movement, space and relationships.
‘Lönnen’, ‘Molnen mellan oss’ and ‘Studie V för Carl Larssons bakgård’ are oil on canvas.
Also dated 4 July to 4 October 2026 is Chiara Bugatti’s ‘Horror Vacui’, installed in Marabouparken konsthall’s upper gallery. Bugatti’s installation takes up the gallery’s full volume, with materialities and the perceived void between them creating concord and friction. The exhibition is described as an investigation of proximity, distance and the meaning that can arise between them.
Bugatti, born in 1991, lives and works in Stockholm. Her earlier exhibitions include presentations at Off Biennale in Cairo, Greenlight Triennale in Norway, Haninge konsthall, Carl Eldhs Ateljémuseum, Mint konsthall, Uppsala konstmuseum, Borås konstmuseum, Fabrikken for Kunst og Design in Copenhagen, and Stuttgart Art Museum.
