‘Matters of time’ by Nour Jaouda and ‘The Artist’s Eye: Tamara Kalo’ remain on view at The Douglas Hyde Gallery in Dublin until 13 September 2026.
Presented in Gallery 1, Jaouda’s ‘Matters of time’ comprises multi-layered textile works that traverse painting, sculpture and installation to produce what the exhibition describes as ‘landscapes of memory’. The exhibition is a material exploration of memory and a spiritual connection to landscape, featuring recent work engaging with the fluidity of cultural identity, displacement, resilience and belonging.
In Gallery 2, Kalo presents ‘the only body that can hold our world’s grief’ (2025), an installation examining collective grief as a durational condition embedded in landscape and the body.
Jaouda will discuss her practice and ‘Matters of time’ in conversation with the gallery’s director, Georgina Jackson, on 9 September at 6.30pm in Gallery 1.
