Damien Hirst’s ‘The Emotions’, a series of eight giclée prints on aluminium panels, was released in June 2026 and is now being offered by Bents Contemporary in London. Based on Hirst’s original Jacaranda paintings, the editioned works translate the artist’s large-scale floral imagery into a modular group of landscape-oriented prints available either as a complete set or as individual works.
The series comprises ‘Love’, ‘Joy’, ‘Surprise’, ‘Serenity’, ‘Trust’, ‘Anticipation’, ‘Gratitude’ and ‘Inspiration’. Each print measures 120 by 96 centimetres, and the eight matching panels are designed to fit together as a single expansive landscape. The arrangement gives the works a collective scale while allowing each panel to function independently within the series.
According to the accompanying material, Hirst developed ‘The Emotions’ from his Jacaranda paintings as an exploration of the immersive and transient qualities of nature. The compositions focus on the relationship between colour, light and movement, using vivid layers and contrasting textures to evoke flowering trees and open skies.
The prints combine a pointillist treatment with thick splatters of paint. This juxtaposition produces surfaces in which discrete marks and gestural passages coexist, creating a range of colour effects across the panels. The visual language continues Hirst’s use of serial production, while shifting the subject from the isolated motifs associated with some of his best-known print series toward a connected landscape format.
The project takes inspiration from the 2024 display of Hirst’s ‘Cherry Blossoms’ at Museo Jumex in Mexico City. The works were shown in a gallery with windowed walls, with jacaranda trees outside framing the paintings. The presentation placed Hirst’s painted blossoms in direct visual relation to the violet-flowering trees, which are native to South America and are noted in the source material for their long-lasting flowers and contrast with light blue skies.
Bents Contemporary lists the works as giclée direct prints on aluminium composite panels. The individual listing for ‘Love (H20-1)’, the first work in the sequence, gives an edition size of 311 and a price of £6,000. The print is fitted with a subframe, is not framed, and is hand-signed and numbered on the reverse. The dealer’s listings identify the other works in the series by their corresponding codes, from H20-2 through H20-8, and state that the full group and individual prints are available.
