Artipelag has unveiled 'Scensommar 2026', its recurring summer programme of music, poetry, dance and art set to run from 6 June to 15 August 2026 in Gustavsberg, outside Stockholm. The museum and cultural destination says the season will unfold across several of its spaces and the surrounding landscape, with performances taking place in the house, in the forest glade, in the foyer and in the immersive Artbox. The programme is led artistically by Jacob Kellermann.
According to Artipelag, the summer season is built as “a summer in several acts,” with the entire site becoming a stage over the course of June, July and August. The institution describes the programme as a mix of recurring concerts and performances in which music, poetry, dance and nature share centre stage. It also notes that this year’s edition includes family performances in the forest glade and in the Studio for children aged 3–5 and 5–10.
The programme opens on Sweden’s National Day, 6 June, and continues with a series of events that shift between outdoor and indoor settings. June includes a national day concert by Baggensfjärden, featuring among others Lill Lindfors and Sofia Vokalensemble, and a sold-out roof concert with Gothenburg Combo and Ann-Kristin Jones on 27 June. July brings jazz, classical music, poetry and family shows, including 'Dansa & lyssna till jazz som på Nalen' with The Nalen Legacy Octet on 4 July, 'Föreställning i utställningen MUCHA – Beyond Art Nouveau' on 9 July, 'Stina Ekblad reciterar Tranströmer till Bach' on 11 July, 'Staffan Scheja med vänner' on 18 July, 'Sommar i folkton' with Lena Willemark, Lisa Långbacka and Lisa Rydberg on 23 July, and 'Isabella Lundgren Kvartett' on 25 July.
August opens with a sold-out guest performance by Virpi Pahkinen Dance Company on 1 August, followed by 'Hannes Meidal läser Gunnar Ekelöf' in the forest glade on 6 August and 'Möt världsartisten Roland Pöntinen' in the foyer on 8 August. The season concludes on 15 August with 'Hannes Meidal och Lena Endre reciterar Rilke' in the Artbox, presented as part of 'MUCHA – Beyond Art Nouveau'. Artipelag says the programme is subject to continuous updates and reservations for changes.
The two August literary-music productions foreground the site-specific character of 'Scensommar'. In 'Hannes Meidal läser Gunnar Ekelöf', scheduled for 6 August from 14.00 to 15.15 in the forest glade, Hannes Meidal and accordionist Leo Florin are said to bring Gunnar Ekelöf’s poem 'Eufori' together with nature’s own sounds and a newly written musical landscape. The page also notes that Florin recently won the accordion world championship in Italy and will appear with a trio including Marcus Wiander on drums and Kuba Pietryka on double bass.
In 'Möt världsartisten Roland Pöntinen', scheduled for 8 August from 19.30 to 20.45 in the foyer, Artipelag presents the pianist as one of Sweden’s most internationally sought-after performers. The programme includes music by Chopin, Fauré, Liszt, Debussy and Prokofjev, with Chopin’s 'Regndroppspreludiet' and Liszt’s 'Liebestraum' specifically named on the page. The event is marked as classical music and offered with an optional combined ticket that includes food and the performance.
The closing event, 'Hannes Meidal och Lena Endre reciterar Rilke', takes place on 15 August from 19.30 to 20.45 in the Artbox. Artipelag says the performance will unfold inside the immersive world of Alphonse Mucha, where poetry, music and projections surround the audience. The page lists KammarensembleN and conductor Christian Karlsen alongside Meidal and Endre, and says music by Debussy, Zemlinsky and Busoni is woven into Mucha’s visual universe.
