FELTRE, Italy — The exhibition 'Evanescenza della memoria', featuring works by Michela D’Ambros Zasio, is on view at the Torri del Castello through 30 September 2026. Presented in the historic castle towers above Feltre, the display centers on a visual investigation of the city’s past, gathering fragments of memory and historical trace into a set of acrylic and mixed-media works on paper.
According to Visit Feltre’s exhibition pages, the show is installed in the Torri del Castello and was organized with the curatorial and display arrangement by architect Giuliana Zanella. The exhibition opened on 25 June 2026 with an inauguration at the Galleria d’arte moderna Carlo Rizzarda, followed by a visit to the show. The opening also included remarks by the historian and writer Matteo Melchiorre. Admission to the inauguration was free until capacity was reached.
Zasio, described by the institution as an artist of Feltrine origin who has long lived in Rome, is an alumna of Pedro Cano and has shown work in cities including Milan, Blanca and Dubai. For this project, she turns to the center of Feltre and to details that can be overlooked in everyday viewing: fragments of tomb inscriptions, sculpture, and faded frescoes. The site text notes that some of the visual references evoke material removed by imperial troops during the Cambrai wars of 1509–1510, by Venetian lapidaries in 1691, and by French Jacobins in 1797.
The exhibition description places these elements within what it calls a “geography of memory,” where human events are lost and mingled in the flow of history. Rather than presenting a linear historical narrative, the works are said to gather small surviving particulars into images that invite reflection on research and preservation. The title, 'Evanescenza della memoria', signals that emphasis on what remains partial, fragile, and easily missed.
The show forms part of a wider summer and autumn cultural program in Feltre that also includes other heritage-based activities at city museums and historic sites. Visit Feltre’s event listings note a separate series of urban walks focused on San Francesco and the Franciscans in the city and its territory, as well as a parallel exhibition, 'Tracce francescane', at the Galleria d’arte moderna Carlo Rizzarda through 16 August 2026. Those items are distinct from Zasio’s exhibition, which remains the main subject at the Torri del Castello.
The Torri del Castello itself is one of Feltre’s most prominent historic sites. Visit Feltre’s venue information identifies the towers as part of the city’s castle complex and says they are open seasonally from 1 April to 30 September, on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, with visits from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 15:00 to 19:00. For 'Evanescenza della memoria', the exhibition can be visited every Saturday and Sunday from 26 June to 30 September, during those same daytime hours, with entry by single ticket or Totem card.
