Alfonso Artiaco presents Gianmarco Biele’s ‘storie del giardino’, curated by Mario Francesco Simeone. The exhibition brings together nine new paintings and a sculptural intervention exploring the garden as a symbolic and cultural space.
Drawing on vegetal details found at the margins of canonical paintings, Biele isolates, enlarges, and recontextualises fragments traditionally considered secondary, allowing them to acquire a new visual autonomy.
Suspended between recognizability and abstraction, the works explore the shifting relationship between nature and artifice, growth and control, foreground and periphery.
Through a practice attentive to the materiality and rhythm of painting, the exhibition invites a slower gaze. That slower gaze reveals the latent vitality and transformative potential contained within the vegetal world.
