The final session of the cycle will feature Alicia Kopf in conversation with Berta Ferrer, the cycle’s moderator, about Kopf’s creative process and the approach of her work on Julio González.
The program was organized for the 150th anniversary of Julio González, who lived from 1876 to 1942, and IVAM invited nine prominent contemporary writers whose work engages with contemporary art to attempt stories, chronicles or poems about the major 20th-century sculptor.
The monthly talks aim to reread one of contemporary art’s major sculptural poetics through other perspectives and languages that complement academic knowledge and art history.
The session will take place in room G2 at IVAM Centre Julio González, with free admission until capacity is reached.
Kopf is identified as an artist, writer and researcher, and holds a doctorate in Design and Communication. She is the author of the novels ‘Hermano de hielo’, published in 2016 and awarded the Documenta, Llibreter, Ojo Crítico and Cálamo prizes, and ‘Memòria d’Eco’, published in 2026.
