On 20 October, Juan Vicente Monzó and Teresa Millet will converse about Equipo Crónica and its presence in the IVAM collection. The event is scheduled for 18:00 at G5 IVAM Centre Julio González, and advance registration is required.

The conversation belongs to Colección 84, a monthly programme of curatorial visits and dialogues focused on the IVAM collection. Colección 84 is intended to activate the IVAM collection and generate new readings around its holdings through a programme linked to the exhibition ‘La Colección del IVAM hasta hoy’.

The event was proposed by conservator Teresa Millet, who invited Juan Vicente Monzó García, an assistant to Equipo Crónica during the 1970s, to develop a dialogue in the exhibition room about the collective, its importance in art history and its significance within the museum’s collection.

Event material identifies Equipo Crónica as the collective of Rafael Solbes and Manolo Valdés. The material also lists ‘El día que aprendí a escribir con tinta’ (‘El dia que vaig aprendre a escriure amb tinta’), a 1972 work by Equipo Crónica.

The programme is being developed with the involvement of the museum’s conservation team and is intended to open conservators’ research to dialogue with artists, thinkers, curators and other cultural agents. It incorporates different perspectives and disciplines into the interpretation of the collection.
