'¡Olé! El mito de lo español a través de Andalucía'

The Museo Carmen Thyssen Málaga will open ‘¡Olé! El mito de lo español a través de Andalucía’ on 3 October, bringing together an extensive selection of artworks that examines how Andalusia has shaped visual ideas of Spain since the 19th century.

Museo Reina Sofía is commemorating Antonio Saura and his dialogue with Goya. The review examines Saura’s work through the direct dialogue he maintained with the work of Francisco de Goya.

The artist made the work in 1917. The content asks what is special about the painting and what details can be discovered in it.

The ideas of ‘emergence,’ ‘birth’ and ‘appearance’ remain associated with the importance of emptiness in the composition.
