Image: Cau Ferrat Museum, Sitges
Santiago Rusiñol arrived in Sitges in 1891, an event marked by the post’s ‘On This Day’ reference.
He became attached to the town because of its warmth, landscape and people.
He soon opened the Cau Ferrat.
Rusiñol also organised the five Modernist Festivals, which turned Sitges into a cultural capital.
The accompanying image is identified as the earliest photograph of Rusiñol in Sitges.
