The Cau Ferrat Museum will have its own section within the exhibition 'Barcelona Moderna: from Gaudí to Picasso', which will be presented first at the Kunsthalle in Munich and subsequently at Museum Barberini in Potsdam. The exhibition is devoted to Catalan artistic modernity, while the participation of the Sitges museums is described as giving their collections an international projection.

The dedicated section will present the distinctive character of Santiago Rusiñol’s house-studio, its collections and its role in the formation of Catalan modernism. In doing so, it will make these aspects of the museum available to German audiences within the exhibition.

Four emblematic paintings traveling to Munich are 'Magdalena penitent' by El Greco, 'Rusiñol sobre un llum de ferro forjat' by Ramon Casas, 'La morfina' by Santiago Rusiñol and 'La vídua' by Isidre Nonell.

The loan also includes a panoply from the Santiago Rusiñol Collection, formed by several wrought-iron pieces, together with two firebacks and a crane arm dated between the 15th and 18th centuries.

The loan further strengthens collaboration between the Sitges museums and other cultural institutions, while contributing to the international visibility of collections closely linked to Sitges’s artistic and cultural history.
