Tracey Emin's monumental bronzes at the Trocadéro close November 1

Three large bronze sculptures by Tracey Emin stand on the Parvis des droits de l'Homme at the Palais de Chaillot, on the Place du Trocadéro in Paris, until November 1, 2026. Presented by Art Basel Paris, White Cube and the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine, the installation opened on October 14 and is free to visit. Art Basel describes it as the first project of its Public Program that Art Basel Paris has realised.

The group consists of "I Lay Here For You" (2018), "I Followed You to the End" (2024) and "I Will Not Be Alone" (2025). Emin, born in London in 1963, now lives and works between the south of France, Margate and London, and is known for work that deals with intimacy and vulnerability, often through the female body as a carrier of desire, loss and strength. According to the Art Basel presentation, the three figures move from abandonment towards resilience.

In "I Lay Here For You", an elongated form stretches across the ground face down, in a pose that can read as exposure or withdrawal. "I Followed You to the End" shows a body raising itself onto its knees, legs apart, in a posture the presentation reads as either a tender invitation or a gesture of submission. The third figure, "I Will Not Be Alone", sits upright on a rock with its face veiled, which, in Art Basel's reading, takes the work beyond portraiture and turns it into a collective image of strength and endurance. The bronzes are monumental in scale: the largest measures 260 by 393 by 690 centimetres.

Students from the École du Louvre are on site to guide visitors every afternoon from October 20 to 25, and an audio guide accompanies the project. At the fair itself, at the Grand Palais, White Cube's stand includes an Emin painting, "Waiting For A Moment of You" (2025), which Art Basel presents as an echo of the outdoor installation.
