The research institute of the Castello di Rivoli, the CRRI, will open ‘Primi contatti. Attivazione collettiva del Fondo Chiara Fumai’ on 29 October 2026. The presentation, roughly ‘First contacts: a collective activation of the Chiara Fumai Fund’, is installed on the second floor of the Manica Lunga.

The project centres on the Fondo Chiara Fumai, the archive fund devoted to the artist. From it, the presentation brings out a selection of objects Fumai used on stage together with personal belongings, and uses them as a starting point for imagining other ways in which an archive can be opened up and shared with the public.

‘Primi contatti’ is the outcome of a co-curation workshop led by OCCULTA, the Osservatorio per la Cura Collettiva dei Linguaggi Tecno-Archiviali, a scientific outreach project funded by the Department of Humanities at the University of Turin. It has been developed with Mucho Mas! in collaboration with the CRRI.

OCCULTA also presented ‘Il corpo dell’archivio’ (‘The body of the archive’), a performance-based lecture drawing on the same collection, at the Castello di Rivoli on the afternoon of 10 October, in collaboration with the research institute. The presentation itself has no announced closing date.
