Glasgow Life has put tickets on sale for an afternoon concert by the Glenn Miller Orchestra at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on 29 December 2026, bringing the long-running big band’s swing repertory to one of the city’s major concert venues. The performance is scheduled for 3pm, with ticket prices listed at £41.82, £37.34, £30.62, £22.78 and £19.42, including booking fee and restoration fund.
The concert listing describes the event as an opportunity to “step back in time” with the orchestra’s “big band brilliance,” and says the ensemble will celebrate Glenn Miller’s sound and the “golden age of swing.” Glasgow Life’s newsletter preview used similar wording, calling it “an afternoon of timeless music from the UK’s most celebrated Big Band” and highlighting the 1940s spirit of the programme.
According to the event page, the performance will feature Miller’s own arrangements of wartime chart-toppers and other familiar hits. The listing also names special guest Ray McVay, who will join the orchestra on stage, and says the concert will include Mark Porter as conductor. Vocalists listed on the page are Mark Porter, Catherine Sykes and guest artist John James, alongside The Uptown Hall Jazz Band, with members drawn from the orchestra and their own vocal group, The Moonlight Serenaders.
Glasgow Life is the city’s cultural and events operator and presents Glasgow Life Tickets as a central booking platform for its venues and programmes. The organisation’s website frames the ticketing service as a “one stop shop for tickets and event information,” and Glasgow Royal Concert Hall appears among its principal venues, alongside City Halls, Old Fruitmarket and Kelvingrove Bandstand and Amphitheatre. For this concert, the venue is clearly identified as Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
The concert is one of several events featured in Glasgow Life’s early July music newsletter, which also highlighted the Scottish Chamber Orchestra’s 2026/27 season and Hans Zimmer versus John Williams programme, but the Glenn Miller Orchestra was the item marked “On Sale Tomorrow!” in that mailing. The concert’s own page gives the on-sale time as 10am on Friday 3 July 2026.
The age guidance on the event page states that under-16s must be accompanied by an adult. The venue page also notes a restoration fund charge of £1.50 per ticket for new events at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and other Glasgow Life concert halls venues, added at checkout. The concert page includes standard venue information such as access provisions, ticketing charges and box office contact details, while the event itself remains fixed to a single afternoon performance in late December.
