The exhibition is presented from September 10 through February 28 at MAC Panamá, in the institution’s Sala La Bóveda.
It emerged from the process developed after Delgado’s selection as the winner of the first edition of the Premio de Arte Joven MAC Panamá x Mercantil.
Through sculptures, textiles, videos and installations, Delgado intertwines their nonbinary and queer experience with imagery drawn from Panamanian popular culture, craft and the territory.
Delgado creates a universe where wire bends, nature takes unexpected forms, and what once marked boundaries begins to grow and expand toward other places. The work displaces what is familiar to ask what other forms of existence can be imagined.
The prize initiative was created to support new voices in Panamanian contemporary art through resources for producing work, international training and the opportunity to mount a first solo exhibition at MAC Panamá.
