A retrospective exhibition spanning over two decades of Edenmont’s practice will open at Wetterling Gallery in Stockholm on October 8, 2026, and run through November 12, 2026. The presentation will take place at Wetterling Gallery, Nybrogatan 20, Stockholm, Sweden.
The exhibition brings together early photographic works, portraits, Edenmont’s renowned butterfly pieces, and series involving eggs. These groups of works place photography, portraiture, butterflies and eggs within the same retrospective presentation.
Together, the works reveal the breadth of Edenmont’s production and her sustained engagement with questions of life, death, beauty and fertility.
Her abstract butterfly works employ thousands of butterfly wings painstakingly collaged onto a surface, creating compositions that evoke the joyful colours of Kandinsky and the gestural freedom of the German Expressionists. The works are made through the laborious placement of the wings across a surface, while their abstract character is associated by the gallery with Kandinsky and German Expressionism.
Beyond butterflies, Edenmont has used natural materials such as beetles, flowers and vegetables, presenting them en masse as lavish sculptural costumes for her models.
