Arts d’Australie • Stéphane Jacob has extended ‘Konstantina | Birrung Ngura – Belonging to Country’ by one week. The gallery announced the exhibition for 4 June to 19 September 2026 and now gives 26 September as the closing date, at 13 rue Chapon in the third arrondissement of Paris. It is the third solo exhibition the gallery has devoted to the artist.
Konstantina is an Aboriginal artist and a Gadigal woman of the Eora Nation. The gallery presents the exhibition as an account of the relationship her people maintain with Country, which it describes as both intimate and living, and which it treats as the organising idea of the show rather than one theme among several.
The Country at issue is given a specific extent. The gallery defines it as a territory reaching from the present-day Sydney Opera House to South Head and Watsons Bay, locating the work in a particular stretch of coast rather than in Aboriginal Australia generally.
On the gallery’s account, the works hold two registers at once: ancestral memory, and a reading of the landscape made in the present. It frames the exhibition as showing the continuity and renewal of traditional knowledge across generations — a characterisation of what the works set out to do, offered by the gallery rather than drawn from any independent assessment.
The exhibition opened with a preview on Thursday 4 June, from 5 to 9 pm, and a reception on Saturday 6 June from 3 pm, both with the artist present; Konstantina remained at the gallery until 13 June. Those dates have long passed, and the extension adds time to view the work rather than any further programme around it.
Several of the works the gallery lists alongside the exhibition carry titles in Gadigal language, among them ‘Ngura Mawa: Warrane Badu’, ‘Wumera Nangamay – Kati Thanda Salt’ and ‘Gadigal Weave #2’. A downloadable document accompanies the listing.
No second extension is indicated, and the gallery names no onward venue for the works once the room is cleared. Its next exhibition is already scheduled, which sets a practical limit on how long this one could stay up.
