The opening weekend on 28 and 29 November will be free. Its programme will include exhibitions, live performances, concerts, DJ sets, films, installations and workshops for children and families.
Kanal will open with ten exhibitions spanning art and architecture, from collection displays to group exhibitions and site-specific installations. The programme includes ‘A truly immense journey’, featuring works from the Centre Pompidou collection, alongside solo shows by Otobong Nkanga, Joëlle Tuerlinckx and Joshua Serafin.
Kanal’s first live season will include performance, dance, film, music and sound, as well as festivals and a film club. The opening programme invites visitors to come together, experiment and imagine what a museum can be.
