The Frankfurter Kunstverein will open the exhibition on 13 November 2026 at 18:00, with the show on view from 14 November 2026 through 7 March 2027; it was created in collaboration with the Institut für Demokratie und Zeitgesellschaft (IDZ Jena) and the Goethe University Frankfurt’s graduate programme ‘Ästhetik der Demokratie’.
International and Frankfurt artists will examine methods and aesthetics of contemporary propaganda, the power of images and digital content, and the political and financial interests behind opinion-making.
The exhibition page lists Joshua Citarella, Ganslmeier&Zibelnik, Ben Grosser and Oguz Sen.
It presents propaganda in the post-truth era as confusing, convoluted and fiercely contested, linking it to disruptive politics, alternative truths, and politics as spectacle and fiction.
The exhibition identifies parties, social movements, companies, lobbying groups, foreign actors and individuals as users of propaganda, competing for attention in the digital public sphere while manipulative strategies inflame emotions and set worldviews against one another.
It also asks who benefits politically and financially when information from the ‘Situation Room’ moves markets within seconds, with every rumour and news item producing profit and loss.
The Kunstverein describes the show as the next chapter in a cycle of political exhibitions following ‘Grönland – Not for Sale’.
