Rukaj Gallery will present at Booth 202 of The Armory Show from September 24 to 27, 2026. Its presentation explores artists from Canada and the United States who engaged in an increasingly fluid exchange of ideas, practices and influences in the postwar era.
The exhibition offers a portrait of two nations in rich artistic dialogue, shaped by shared visions of what the future of art-making could be.
The announced artist list also includes Larry Bell, Helen Frankenthaler, Lester Johnson, Rita Letendre, Miriam Schapiro and Esteban Vicente. Bell was a pioneer of the California Light and Space movement.
It concludes with several works by John Graham Coughtry, all first selected by the National Gallery of Canada for exhibition at the 'Bienal de São Paulo' of 1959 before being donated to the Smithsonian as part of the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden.
