The exhibition brings together single- and multi-panel drawings as well as a new wall drawing. With this work, Last Gun continues to reimagine the Plains Indian Ledger Art tradition into new abstract works on paper.
Born in Browning, Montana, Last Gun is an enrolled member of the Piikani Nation of Montana, part of the Blackfoot Confederacy. Terran Last Gun lives and works in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
‘Great Mysteries Are Nearby,’ dated 2026, is an ink-and-colored-pencil drawing made on an antique ‘The Tisch-Hine Co., Grand Rapids, Michigan’ ledger sheet dated 1923.
‘Astonishment Fills As Bolts Of Cosmic Energy Beam Through Land And Sky,’ dated 2026, is a nine-panel polyptych ledger drawing made with ink and colored pencil on antique ‘Sinking Fund Ledger, Disbursements and Collections’ ledger sheets dated 1945–1950.
‘Remarkable Meeting,’ dated 2026, is an ink-and-colored-pencil drawing on an antique ‘The Tisch-Hine Co., Grand Rapids, Michigan’ ledger sheet dated 1923.
