The exhibition takes the signal as its point of departure: something perceptible without being clearly assignable. Satellite signals, heart recordings, language, light and material traces provide the basis for works concerned with transmission, storage and disruption.
Heide Nord works with signals from weather satellites and atmospheric phenomena, translating them into image-objects, paintings and sound. Her works move between the scientific image and speculative form, asking how fleeting phenomena become visible through systems of measurement, mapping and recording.
Anna Vovan begins with objects from her parents’ household, which she understands as material equivalents of language. Through photographic processes, the objects dissolve into lines, shadows and traces. These forms approach the quality of a sound, a spoken word or a memory.
The exhibition identifies two works as Heide Nord’s ‘HN_NGC-6720 III’ (2026) and Anna Vovan’s ‘10/1956_41/42_blau’ (2026). In the interplay of the two positions, a spatial installation emerges in which image, sound, light and material enter into relation with one another. The exhibition asks what remains audible and visible when signals are disrupted, language misses its target, or recordings leave more open than they explain.
