It is the final chance to visit artist Ragnar Kjartansson’s kids exhibition inspired by a theatrical feast. The exhibition is presented at NGV International’s Ground Level Children’s Gallery from 26 June to 4 October 2026, with free entry.
Visitors can create their own version of a feast by acting, storytelling, drawing what they see, sketching real or imagined foods, and building playful dessert sculptures with colourful cushions.
Young children can play at baking by stacking, mixing, matching and building giant cake sculptures from large, colourful cushions in any colour combination. Visitors can also choose a costume, set and props, become a character, and invent their own adventure.
Kjartansson, a Reykjavík-based contemporary artist, creates playful and imaginative artworks using music, performance and storytelling, combining ideas from films, books and pop songs. The exhibition is for all ages and celebrates play, performance, drawing and theatre while encouraging creativity and free expression.
