Ragnar Kjartansson

Iceland, 1923–1988

Ragnar Kjartansson (1923–1989) was an Icelandic sculptor and a member of the Icelandic Sculptors Society, which he helped establish in 1972. He founded Glit, Ltd., the only ceramic factory in Iceland. One of his sculptures is located along the main road in Eskifjördur and commemorates mariners who drowned at sea.
