Cycle de conférences autour de l’exposition Éternel Tintoret

Marc de Launay will give ‘Tintoret ou le réalisme pathétique’ on 8 October 2026. The programme also lists ‘Rivalités à Venise’ for Thursday 5 November 2026.

From 11 September 2026 to 24 January 2027, the Musée Jacquemart-André will highlight one of the leading figures of the Italian Renaissance.

The exhibition presents the first panorama in France of Tintoret’s entire career and argues that his artistic legacy extends across centuries and borders, making him a reference for 19th-century French painting.

Jacomo Robusti, known as Tintoretto in reference to his father’s trade as a dyer, remained in Venice throughout his life and became a major figure of 16th-century painting.

His prestigious commissions included ‘Miracle de l’esclave’ in 1548, the ‘Paradise’ fresco at the Palais des Doges from 1588, and work at the Scuola Grande di San Rocco from 1564 to 1588.
