Jacquemart-André Museum to Honor Tintoret [f1]

The exhibition will present, for the first time in France, an overview of Tintoret’s entire career and examine how his artistic legacy extended across centuries and borders to become a reference for 19th-century French painting. [f2]

It will bring together around 40 paintings and works on paper from French, Italian and international collections. [f3]

From 11 September 2026 to 24 January 2027, the Musée Jacquemart-André will honor Jacomo Robusti, known as Tintoret (1518/19–1594), one of the leading figures of the Italian Renaissance. [f1]

Tintoret remained in Venice throughout his life, where his exceptionally long career unfolded. [f4]

He established himself in the late 1540s through prestigious commissions, including 'Le Miracle de l’esclave' in 1548. [f5]

With the support of a large workshop, he dominated the market for major decorative cycles commissioned for the city’s institutions during the second half of the century, including the Palais des Doges and the Scuola Grande di San Rocco. [f6]
