‘Colourful Parachutes: Imagining Alternative Futures Through the Power of Play’ remains on view at The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery in Toronto through 7 September 2026.

Curated by Frances Loeffler, Curator of Exhibitions, and Sarah Edo, TD Curatorial Fellow, the exhibition brings together participatory and interactive works by Claire Greenshaw, Leisure (Meredith Carruthers and Susannah Wesley), Sassa Linklater, Tobias Linklater, Ana Mendieta, Rivane Neuenschwander, Harold Offeh, Temitayo Ogunbiyi and Robin Rhode. Conceived with children as its primary audience, the exhibition examines the politics of exhibition space through play and considers the gallery as a microcosm of society.

Works in the presentation include Greenshaw’s graphite-on-gallery-wall work ‘A Decision Between Us’ (2026); Leisure’s ‘The Chrysalis and the Butterfly’ (2025); Ogunbiyi’s ‘You will find Lagos in Jand Living (Final Destination: the T-dot)’ (2023–26); Neuenschwander’s ‘Dream.lab’ (2024); Offeh’s mixed-media installation ‘The Mothership Collective 2.0’ (2025); and Rhode’s ‘Paries Pictus - Draw the Waves’ (2015).

The gallery will be open from 11am to 6pm on 7 September, the exhibition’s final day.
