‘Moon Landing’, a multidisciplinary collaboration between textile artist Margo Selby and composer Helen Caddick, remains on view at Saatchi Gallery in London until 8 September 2026. The installation is presented within ‘The Sun and The Moon: Art Inspired by the Celestial’, which runs from 5 June to 8 September.
The work brings together Selby’s 16-metre hand-woven textile and Caddick’s original composition for strings. More than 30,000 threads are woven in multiple combinations, bringing colour and music together through pattern, tone and rhythm.
‘Moon Landing’ draws on the stories of Navajo women weavers and women whose skills and knowledge contributed to integrated circuits used in NASA’s Apollo Guidance Computer. Selby’s woven response reflects her interest in links between mathematics, science and weaving.
Selby will discuss the project at Saatchi Gallery on Friday 4 September, from 10 to 11 a.m. Guests are asked to arrive at 10 a.m. for check-in; the talk begins at 10.30 a.m. Visitors can explore the wider exhibition afterwards.
