Rayane Mcirdi will present ‘Joyeuse retraite papa’ at Le Plateau in Paris from 24 September 2026 to 21 February 2027. Curated by Céline Poulin, the exhibition centres on a 16 mm film following Dino’s final day of work. Dino is played by Zinedine Soualem.
Mcirdi’s film draws on stories from the artist’s family, close relations and residents of Asnières-sur-Seine and Gennevilliers, as well as narratives circulating between Algeria and France.
The opening will take place on Wednesday 23 September, from 6pm to 9pm. The project is co-produced by Frac Île-de-France and Passerelle, centre d’art contemporain d’intérêt national, Brest, with Don Quichotte Films serving as delegated producer for the film. The exhibition is scheduled to travel to Passerelle in Brest.
