Museo Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo will present ‘Animated-video programme from the Museo CA2M collections’ from 9 July 2026 to 10 January 2027.
The programme focuses on video works held in the Museo CA2M Collection and the Fundación ARCO Collection. Organised as a series of screenings over the exhibition period, it begins with a selection devoted to animation.
Nine videos by Cristina Lucas, Vasava Artworks, Vicente Blanco, Paco Guillén, Marina Núñez, Lois Patiño, Leonor Serrano Rivas and Juan Zamora bring together approaches to drawing in motion. The selected works are Vicente Blanco’s ‘Otra vez algo nuevo’ (2006); Paco Guillén’s ‘Sintonizando el lugar de la bandera’ (2012); Cristina Lucas’s ‘Pantone -500+2007’ (2007); Marina Núñez’s ‘El fuego de la visión (María)’ (2015); Lois Patiño Lamas’s ‘Montaña en sombra’ (2012); Leonor Serrano Rivas’s ‘Estrella’ (2018); Vasava Artworks’ ‘Jerry´s Backenzahnoperationsträumelein’ (2004); and Juan Zamora’s ‘Media sirena’ and ‘Media mosca’ (both 2006).
The programme considers animation in relation to drawing, handmade animation, cinema, music, dance and scenography.
