Antonio Ballester Moreno’s exhibition ‘El cielo y la tierra’ is on view at Museo Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo in Móstoles from 11 April to 27 September 2026.
Ballester Moreno, who also serves as curator of the project, presents the exhibition as a reading of the collections of Museo Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo and Fundación ARCO. The project explores landscape as an artistic genre with geological, anthropological and social dimensions.
The installation brings Ballester Moreno’s production, made in collaboration with families and pupils at CEIP Federico García Lorca in Móstoles, into conversation with works by other artists in the Museo Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo Collection. It combines amateur productions made from materials including cardboard with works by established artists.
Participating artists include Ibon Aranberri, Karel Appel, José Luis Alexanco, John Baldessari, Miriam Cahn, June Crespo, Ángela de la Cruz, Patricia Esquivias, Rodney Graham, Sol LeWitt, Ana Mendieta, Itziar Okariz, Alberto Sánchez and Isabel Villar.
Ballester Moreno’s practice draws on popular knowledge, experience-based learning and non-formal educational processes, approaching art as an educational gesture and cultural institutions as sites of encounter.
