Malba presents the international seminar "Latinoamérica en escena" in Buenos Aires on Friday 18 September, as part of the museum's 25th-anniversary week. The one-day meeting brings together artists, curators, collectors, philanthropists and cultural figures from different parts of the world around artistic practice, collecting and institutional relationships, and revisits some of the processes behind the presence of Latin American art on the international stage over the past 25 years.

It runs in Malba's auditorium from 10.30 to 17.30, with accreditation and the handing out of interpretation devices from 10.00. Admission is free with prior registration; tickets become available on the museum's own page from Monday 7 September. Simultaneous interpretation between English and Spanish, by ICANA, is offered through a limited number of individual devices. Teresa Bulgheroni, vice-president of Malba, gives the introductory remarks at 10.30.

The seminar accompanies the opening of two exhibitions at Malba — "Latinoamérica en expansión", the new presentation of the Colección Malba–Costantini, and "Viva Frida" — and sits inside the anniversary programme running from 18 to 21 September.

Panel 1, "Arte contemporáneo: recorridos ancestrales y devenires al futuro" (10.45–12.00), pairs Beatriz Milhazes and Tomás Saraceno, moderated by María Amalia García. Milhazes works with abstraction and Brazilian popular imagery, Saraceno with the relationship between art, science, ecology and ancestral knowledge; the conversation looks at how practices tied to specific contexts circulate among institutions and audiences.

Panel 2, "Viva Frida" (12.15–13.30), brings together Circe Henestrosa, Gannit Ankori, Perla Labarthe of the Museo Frida Kahlo and Jessica Serrano, director of financial education and cultural promotion at the Banco de México, introduced by Elina Costantini. It runs in two parts, Henestrosa with Ankori and then Labarthe with Serrano. Malba describes the exhibition — organised by the Semana de la Alta Costura with the Museo Frida Kahlo under Costantini's direction, and curated by Henestrosa — as bringing together more than 350 pieces, among them personal objects, paintings, photographs, letters and documents. It opens on 19 September and is on view from 20 September 2026 to 15 March 2027.

After the break, Panel 3, "El arte de mirar" (15.30–16.00), puts the collector and Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo founder Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in conversation with the art historian Carmen Reviriego, president of Fundación Callia, on how collectors and patrons back artists and shape the market and museums. Panel 4, "Un año de diplomacia cultural: Catar y Argentina" (16.00–16.30), pairs H.E. Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, chair of Qatar Museums, with Glenn Lowry, art historian and director of the Museum of Modern Art in New York between 1995 and 2025.

The closing session, Panel 5 (17.00–17.30), is devoted to the collecting trajectory and strategy of Patricia Phelps de Cisneros, interviewed by Malba's founder Eduardo F. Costantini.
