Malba will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a public program running from September 18 to 21, 2026. The anniversary marks the beginning of a new stage for the institution, following extraordinary growth in its collection and amid plans for a new phase of expansion.

The program will bring together an international seminar in the museum auditorium, exhibition openings at both of its sites, a reading festival, educational workshops, cinema with live music, DJ sets in the plaza and a parade on the esplanade. All activities will be free; only the international seminar requires advance registration, while admission to the exhibitions will be free from September 19 through 21.

Listed events include a screening of Fritz Lang’s ‘Metrópolis’ (1927) with live music by the National Film Chamber Orchestra, alongside a closing parade for Haute Couture Week. The exhibitions ‘Viva Frida’, ‘Latinoamérica en expansión’ and ‘Belkis Ayón. Mito y desobediencia’ are open to visitors.

The program also includes a five-hour anniversary edition of the Fiesta de la Lectura and Mexican folk music on the esplanade.
