The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Panamá will present ‘Eterno florecer de un cuerpo encantado’, a solo exhibition by Panamanian artist Milko Delgado, from 10 September 2026 through 28 February 2027. The exhibition will be shown in Sala La Bóveda at MAC Panamá in Ancón, Panama City, with an opening scheduled for 10 September at 6 p.m.
Delgado is the winner of the first Premio de Arte Joven MAC Panamá x Mercantil, a platform established to support emerging artists in Panama. The prize offers its recipient the opportunity to mount a first solo exhibition at an institution, alongside an international training programme through an artist residency. Delgado’s presentation forms part of MAC Panamá’s forthcoming exhibition programme.
The exhibition’s announcement frames the project through images of growth and transformation. Its accompanying text describes wire that bends, intertwines and extends, shifting from a material associated with boundaries and enclosure toward forms that appear to grow into new spaces. The project also evokes pastureland, woodland and unfamiliar forms of nature, where “other bodies and forms of existence” begin to emerge.
Born in Panama in 1995, Delgado is described by MAC Panamá as a transdisciplinary artist and cultural organiser whose practice explores the intersections of body, territory and nature. Their work encompasses performance, video and visual art, as well as cultural and community mediation. The institution states that this aspect of the practice focuses particularly on queer and dissident experiences in Panamanian territory and beyond. Delgado uses nonbinary language in their biography.
Delgado graduated from the Escuela Internacional de Cine y TV. In 2024, their video ‘El Club del SIDA’ was presented at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York as part of the annual Visual AIDS commissions. Their work has also been included in La Bienal en Resistencia in Guatemala, ‘HIV Science as Art’ in Munich and ‘Montage of the Unseen – Art World Osaka’ in Japan, and has been shown at MAC Panamá, the Center for Visual Arts and the SALVAJE Festival Internacional de Cine Social y Comunitario.
In 2023, Delgado received the Prince Claus Seed Award and co-founded Panamá Cuir, a platform focused on creating cultural and artistic spaces around LGBTQI+ experiences in Panama. Their works are held in the collections of MAC Panamá, Mercantil, KADIST and Casa Wabi; the artist completed a residency at Casa Wabi in 2022. MAC Panamá is located on Calle San Blas in Ancón and is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; ‘Eterno florecer de un cuerpo encantado’ runs from 10 September 2026 to 28 February 2027.
