‘Bruit Brut’ runs from 24 February through 19 September 2026. Inspired by the Art Brut movement, Cyril Hernandez has conceived object-pieces of concrete music. The public is invited to activate the pieces while moving through the space.
Among the works is ‘Le Marcelophone’, an instrument made from a bottle rack, a bicycle wheel and a multitude of bells, with a nod to Marcel Duchamp. ‘Le Calderophone’ is a nine-metre-wide cymbal mobile conceived as a tribute to Alexander Calder.
The exhibition also includes ‘Eaulà’, an audiovisual installation using water as a narcissistic mirror and a well of memories. ‘La Tactile’ is an installation intended to be caressed. ‘Bruit Brut’ is presented through the DGCA-SACEM scheme for an associated composer.
Associated programming includes ‘Nuit cosmique’, by Cyril Hernandez and Compagnie LaTruc, presented במסגרת the European Heritage Days. The programme features ‘Les Portraits Cosmophoniques’, a participatory photographic and sound creation made with patients at Sainte-Marie; ‘Le Phare’, a light installation specially designed for the Sainte-Marie Chapel; and ‘Cosmophonies’, a musical and video performance celebrating the creation of the universe and the emergence of life.
