Dart Gallery in Dartmouth has announced nine new canvases by Steven Mcloughlin, adding a fresh group of mixed-media paintings to its current selection. The gallery says the works have just arrived and are available on its website and in the gallery now. Mcloughlin’s new paintings are described by Dart Gallery as bright canvases “rich with colour and sparkling light,” all inspired by the beauty of South Devon.
The announcement places the release within the gallery’s wider summer programme, where Dart Gallery says both floors are filled with new artworks by a range of represented artists. On its ‘Summer 2026’ page, the gallery notes that several artists respond to the area’s landscape and coastline, and says to “look out for new work from Simeon Stafford, Steven Mcloughlin and Allan Morgan” later in the season. Steven Mcloughlin is also listed among the gallery’s artists.
The new Mcloughlin works all use mixed media on canvas and are presented in slim white tray frames, a display choice the gallery says adds an elegant touch to a wall. The gallery’s website lists one of the new paintings as ‘River Colours’, measuring 76cm x 76cm, and notes nine works in the release. The online page also indicates that one of the works, ‘On the Coastal Path to Dartmouth’, has already sold.
Several of the titles point directly to local coastal and river settings, including ‘Shimmering Sea Start Bay’, ‘Tumbling River Dart’, ‘Above Blackpool Sands’, ‘Flowers above Start Bay’, ‘Path to the Sparkling Sea’, ‘Down to Blackpool Sands’, ‘On the Coastal Path to Dartmouth’ and ‘Wild Shore Beyond the Point’. Together, the titles reinforce the gallery’s description of the work as rooted in South Devon’s rivers and coast.
The gallery’s listing provides sizes and prices for the paintings that remain available online. Dart Gallery is based at 4 Lower Street, Dartmouth, where its website lists opening hours from Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with Sunday opening from 11 to 4 and Tuesday closed.
