The Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston has extended Lucy Raven’s 'Rounds at the Watershed' through September 27, adding a final stretch of viewing time at the ICA Watershed in Boston. The museum’s announcement also says the ICA Watershed and ICA Water Shuttle will shift to weekend-only operation from September 12 through September 27, giving visitors a last chance to pair the exhibition with harbor crossings before the show closes.
The extension places Raven’s work alongside a run of late-summer programming at ICA Boston, though the institution’s notice keeps the main focus on the exhibition and its concluding events. Free admission is scheduled for Labor Day, September 7, with advance tickets available beginning the day before, and the museum also flags a family-oriented art day on September 6.
Raven’s exhibition is organized by Ruth Erickson, the ICA’s Barbara Lee Chief Curator and Director of Curatorial Affairs, with Meghan Clare Considine, Curatorial Assistant. The museum’s newsletter describes the work as centered on the physical and mythical landscapes of the American West, pointing in particular to Raven’s film installation 'Murderers Bar'. It also notes that Raven’s practice engages questions of industry and landscape.
A special public conversation with Raven is set for September 27, the final day of the extended presentation. In the museum’s schedule, the artist appears in 'The Artist’s Voice: Lucy Raven with Ruth Erickson' at 10 a.m., a free event with advance ticketing. The talk is positioned as a chance to discuss Raven’s ongoing work and the themes running through the exhibition.
