Adolf Frohner's 1963 work 'AMXV' is on view at Forum Frohner in Krems-Stein as part of the group exhibition 'Touch! Kunst berührt', which runs from 30 May to 18 October 2026. The work is featured in the current Kunstmeile Krems newsletter under the heading 'Adolf Frohners AMXV' with the subtitle 'Körper, Material und der Akt des Herstellens'.
According to the newsletter, the physical process of making is central to Frohner's actionist works. 'AMXV' combines wood, a mattress and iron. The artist tears open, slits and deforms non-art materials, so that his bodily engagement with the object stays legible even without touching it.
Forum Frohner presents the work within 'Touch! Kunst berührt', curated by Elisabeth Voggeneder. The exhibition brings together Renate Bertlmann, VALIE EXPORT, Tone Fink, Adolf Frohner, Stefan Glettler, Gudrun Kampl and Cornelius Kolig around questions of touch, materiality and the body.
The newsletter also announces the free 'Kunstinfo' format, held on the second Saturday of each month at Forum Frohner. The art mediation team is available in the exhibition to answer questions about the artists and the works, and the format is included in the admission ticket. The next date is Saturday, 12 September 2026 at 11 a.m.
