The Municipality of Jesi and the city’s civic museums are using Ferragosto to spotlight a full day of cultural access, with museums and heritage sites open on 15 August 2026 and a solo exhibition by Chris Rocchegiani continuing through early September. The city’s official event notice says the program combines tourist information, guided visits and special museum hours across several venues in Jesi.

At the center of the announcement is 'La gru in volo', a personal exhibition by Chris Rocchegiani presented by the Comune di Jesi and the Musei Civici di Palazzo Pianetti. The show is described as being realised within the three-year project 'Dittico – Arte contemporanea in dialogo con il patrimonio culturale', linking contemporary art with historic collections and cultural spaces. According to the city notice, the exhibition remains on view until 6 September 2026.

The Ferragosto program itself runs on Saturday, 15 August, from 9:30 am to 7 pm. The city says that visitors will be able to access museums and obtain tourism information during the holiday, with the Ufficio Turismo positioned as a central reference point for the day. The municipal listing identifies Ferragosto as open to all.

Several institutions are named in the official schedule. The Musei Civici di Palazzo Pianetti, at Via XV Settembre 10, will be open from 10 am to 7 pm. The Museo Diocesano, at Piazza Federico II 7, is scheduled from 10 am to 1 pm and again from 4 pm to 7 pm. The Museo Federico II Stupor Mundi, at Piazza Federico II 3, will open from 11 am to 7 pm. The Casa Museo Colocci Vespucci, at Piazza A. Colocci 8, will offer visits by reservation.

The Colocci Vespucci house-museum is also the subject of a separate municipal listing for 15 and 16 August. The city describes the site as a place that feels “poco museo e molto casa di abitazione,” and says visits take place at 4 pm, 5 pm and 6 pm on both days. Admission is listed at €6, with a reduced rate of €1, and reservation is required by phone or email.

Alongside the museum openings, Jesi will also continue a free guided walk through the historic center during August. The tour, 'Alla scoperta del centro storico di Jesi', departs every Friday at 11 am from Piazza della Repubblica and is aimed at visitors and residents interested in the city’s cultural heritage. The municipal page says the visits are led by licensed tourist guides and that places are limited.

The Ferragosto notice frames the holiday as part of a wider summer calendar in Jesi, but its immediate focus is on practical access: opening hours, reservations, and the continued display of 'La gru in volo' at the Musei Civici di Palazzo Pianetti until 6 September 2026.
