The Comune di Jesi and the Musei Civici di Palazzo Pianetti are presenting ‘La gru in volo’, a solo exhibition by Chris Rocchegiani in Jesi, Italy. It opened on 27 June 2026 with a vernissage at 6 p.m. and remains on view through 6 September 2026 in the Sale Espositive Betto Tesei at Palazzo Pianetti.

The exhibition belongs to ‘Dittico – Arte contemporanea in dialogo con il patrimonio culturale’, a three-year project that will stage six exhibitions in total in the Betto Tesei rooms, two in each year through 2027, devoted to artists of different generations chosen for their close ties to the territory and the heritage it preserves.

The presentation is curated by Simona Cardinali, head of Jesi’s civic museums, and is laid out across two complementary spaces. It sets the Jesi-born artist in dialogue with the Renaissance painter Lorenzo Lotto, five of whose works are held by the city’s Pinacoteca Civica; the museum describes colour, canvas and a sense of waiting as the threads running between the two, sealed symbolically by the flying crane of the title.

Admission to the Sale Espositive Betto Tesei is free. A combined ticket covering the Betto Tesei rooms and the Pinacoteca Civica costs €5, reduced to €3 for visitors aged 6 to 25. For the closing week, from 1 to 6 September, the museum is open Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and closed on Monday.

‘La gru in volo’ is listed separately from other activities in the Palazzo Pianetti and Jesi cultural programme. Those include a September 2 presentation by artist and teacher Daniele Bordoni, titled ‘Il Corpo della Pittura’, which is also connected to the broader ‘Dittico’ programme but is not part of Rocchegiani’s exhibition.
