KunstCentret Silkeborg Bad has announced ‘Sculpture Experiment Silkeborg - S.E.S 2026’, a five-week outdoor project in the park at the centre in Silkeborg. According to the newsletter material, six new sculptures or installations will be on view for visitors passing through the park, with the works intended to be experienced freely by the public. The opening is set for Saturday, 15 August, at 3 p.m., with free admission.
The project is described as a short-duration format that gives the participating artists room to experiment with form and materials. Because the exhibition period is only five weeks, the newsletter says, artists can work with less durable materials and create fragile or temporary sculptures. That approach places process, experimentation and ephemerality at the centre of the presentation rather than permanence.
The six participating artists are Lars Worm, Sabine Wedege, Lise Seier Petersen, Mie Mo, Anna Borgman and Lars Abrahamsen. The newsletter presents each contribution as a sculpture or installation, but does not provide individual work titles for most of the participants. It does, however, identify a specific piece by Lise Seier Petersen in the accompanying programme material.
Petersen will take part in the project with ‘Ingen kan træde ud i den samme flod to gange, Vol. II’. In the newsletter, the ceramist is also linked to her earlier work ‘Ingen kan træde ud i den samme flod to gange - 99 lerkar til Heraklit’ from 2014, which the text says has been visible for years along Ørnsøstien below KunstCentret Silkeborg Bad. The newsletter frames her contribution through that ongoing engagement with clay and with the durability, or fragility, of ceramic form.
Alongside the opening, Silkeborg Bad has also listed a series of public introductions to the project. These are announced as guided walks through the park, offering visitors more information about the six works. The published dates are Tuesday, 18 August; Wednesday, 19 August; Saturday, 22 August; Tuesday, 25 August; Thursday, 27 August; Tuesday, 1 September; Thursday, 3 September; Saturday, 5 September; Tuesday, 8 September; Thursday, 10 September; Tuesday, 15 September; and Thursday, 17 September.
The newsletter also includes an artist talk with Lise Seier Petersen on Sunday, 16 August at 3 p.m. That event requires registration and is listed at the regular admission price. In the same programme stream, Silkeborg Bad points to other unrelated summer activities in the park, including Outdoor Lyttelounge, a tree walk, communal singing and a children’s and family drawing festival, but ‘Sculpture Experiment Silkeborg - S.E.S 2026’ remains the main art event in the notice.
The exhibition runs from 15 August to 19 September 2026 at KunstCentret Silkeborg Bad in Silkeborg.
