Tŷ Pawb has opened submissions for the fifth edition of ‘The Tŷ Pawb Open’, its biennial open call exhibition in Wrexham. Artists can submit up to three works for consideration for the show, which is scheduled to run from 14 November 2026 to 27 February 2027 at Tŷ Pawb.
The venue says the exhibition is open to both professional and amateur artists and offers them the chance to show work side by side in its award-winning gallery. This year’s edition will also include three prizes: the Judges Prize of £1,000, the People’s Prize of £500 and the Trader’s Prize of £500. The entry fee is £18 for up to three artworks, or £12 for concessions.
According to Tŷ Pawb, the open call has built a substantial record in recent years. The 2024 edition featured more than 100 artworks after nearly 450 artists submitted works, making it the basis for the organisation’s latest invitation to submit. The venue has not announced the selection for 2026 yet, but the scale of the previous open call suggests a broad spread of contributions when the next edition is assembled.
‘The Tŷ Pawb Open’ is part of the organisation’s regular programme of exhibitions and reflects its continuing use of the gallery as a space where different levels of artistic experience can meet. The open call format is central to the project: rather than being built around a single invited artist or curated theme, it is shaped by submissions from artists responding directly to the call. Tŷ Pawb’s announcement presents the exhibition as a competitive opportunity as well as a public display, with the three prizes offering additional incentives for entrants.
The submission deadline is 4 October 2026 at 11.59pm. Tŷ Pawb says artists must first read and understand the terms and conditions, then pay the entry fee and complete the submission form using a payment reference number. Queries can be directed to typawbopen@wrexham.gov.uk.
