Pace Gallery is showing 'Mika Tajima: 37 Dimensions' at its Los Angeles gallery at 1201 South La Brea Avenue from 27 June to 15 August 2026, and has released a film on the exhibition, 'Inside Mika Tajima's “37 Dimensions” in Los Angeles', dated 14 July 2026 in the gallery's journal and carried again in its August newsletter under the heading 'Films'. The gallery's own On View listing gives the run as through 15 August, making this the exhibition's closing week.
Pace describes the presentation as Tajima's first solo exhibition with the gallery in the city of her birth, and says it situates her latest series, titled 24 Hour Cosmos, among other recent bodies of work. The exhibition's title refers to a development in quantum physics in which scientists demonstrated that a pulse of light can exist across 37 dimensions, well beyond the three dimensions through which reality is ordinarily perceived; the same research indicated that a photon's state may be influenced non-locally across vast distances. The gallery says the works mirror those quantum enigmas in exploring the depths of human cognition, perception and latent potential.
Tajima's practice incorporates technology and data alongside traditional techniques to probe the aesthetic and perceptual complexities of contemporary life, moving from early installation and performance work to more recent painting and sculpture, and is guided by a long engagement with questions of agency and control. In the gallery's film, the artist links the works to a single thread, saying that "all the works connect through the idea of perception" and that the show plays with the many ways technology shapes experience of the world.
The works Pace lists for the exhibition include Negentropica, 1 and Negentropica, 2, described in the film text as sculptures, together with Art d'Ameublement (Hanga Roa) (2026), Art d'Ameublement (Baie de la Hébé) (2026), Negative Entropy (Buffalo, Inc., Anechoic Chamber, Acid Yellow, Hex) (2025) and Negative Entropy (Kurozumikyo Shrine Meditation, Blue, Quad) (2026). A press release is available from the exhibition page.
The August newsletter presents the film alongside other current Pace shows listed by city and closing date, including presentations in New York, Seoul, Tokyo and Berlin. For the Los Angeles exhibition, the operative detail is the closing date of 15 August 2026.
