Caline Aoun’s two-part solo presentation 'The Threshold of Impermanence – Die Schwelle der Vergänglichkeit' has been extended and now runs until 25 October 2026 at Kunstmuseum / Kunsthalle Appenzell in Appenzell, Switzerland. The exhibition was originally scheduled to end earlier, but the institution’s August newsletter and agenda now list the show through the autumn, alongside a series of related events in the same venue complex.
According to the newsletter, the exhibition invites visitors to look more closely at processes that are usually difficult to see. It describes light, heat, humidity and technical control as forces that continuously alter materials and surfaces, placing change itself at the centre of the work on view. The presentation is split between the two houses: the Kunstmuseum hosts part 1 and the Kunsthalle part 2, making the exhibition a coordinated project across the institution’s adjacent spaces.
The newsletter also notes the continued run of 'ROUTINEN', a video exhibition that is part of the same overall programme and has likewise been extended until 25 October 2026. Its stated focus is the way everyday visual worlds shape perception and social order. The exhibition schedule on the institution’s agenda keeps 'ROUTINEN' separate from Aoun’s project, but both are presented as current exhibitions in the Appenzell programme.
Kunstmuseum / Kunsthalle Appenzell is marking the extension with public programming throughout August, September and October. The agenda lists an evening opening with free admission on 6 August, a curator-led short tour and seasonal lunch on 28 August, a curator’s short tour in German on 3 September, a public guided tour of 'Caline Aoun. The Threshold of Impermanence' on 13 September, another short tour with lunch on 25 September, and an evening opening again on 1 October.
The programme also includes a finissage and concert on 25 October, the final day listed for the exhibition. The agenda pairs that closing afternoon with a curator’s tour of 'Caline Aoun. The Threshold of Impermanence' in German, indicating that the exhibition’s end will be marked by an on-site public event at the same location.
