Bankside Gallery has launched its annual Summer exhibition, bringing together hundreds of works by members of the Royal Watercolour Society and the Royal Society of Printmakers in London. The exhibition runs from 31 July to 6 September 2026, and for the first time in this annual presentation the works are available to buy instantly online as well as in the gallery.
The gallery describes the show as a broad survey of water-based media and original printmaking, with works spanning watercolours, etchings, monotypes and linocuts. Bankside Gallery is the London venue associated with the Royal Watercolour Society and the Royal Society of Printmakers, and its current presentation continues that remit with work by elected members of both societies. The gallery says it is open daily during exhibitions from 11am to 6pm, with admission free.
Among the artists highlighted in the current presentation are Dale Devereux Barker, Fiona White, Louise Davies, Akash Bhatt and Jo Barry. Specific works shown online include Dale Devereux Barker’s 'Craxton's Cat', a linocut; Fiona White’s 'Museum of Lost Objects : Exhibit V / Brick', a screenprint; Louise Davies’s 'Sea Breeze', an etching and collagraph; Akash Bhatt’s 'Indian Street Dog', a watercolour on board; and Jo Barry’s 'Thoughts and Dreams', an etching. The gallery also lists work by Ferha Farooqui, whose 'Coffee Station' is a watercolour on paper.
The online sale structure is a notable feature of the exhibition. According to Bankside Gallery, all framed watercolours and unique prints are available for instant online purchase, as are unframed prints. Framed editions of prints can be purchased in the gallery by enquiry. The gallery’s website also shows a range of status labels across the works, including sold, available for inquiry and buy now, reflecting the exhibition’s dual role as both display and sales platform.
The exhibition page presents the summer show as a large-scale offering, with 277 artworks listed online. Alongside the named artists singled out in the newsletter announcement, the site includes work by a wider range of exhibitors from the two societies. In the gallery’s presentation, the roster underscores the breadth of approaches within contemporary watercolour and printmaking, from small-scale etchings to larger framed works and more experimental print processes.
Bankside Gallery’s online listing also records prices for individual works, ranging from modestly priced etchings and prints to more highly priced framed pieces. The gallery gives its address as Thames Riverside, 48 Hopton Street, London SE1 9JH, and identifies itself as a gallery of the Royal Watercolour Society and the Royal Society of Printmakers. The Summer exhibition remains on view until 6 September 2026.
