Fundaziun Nairs will stage a triple vernissage on 2 August 2026, opening three exhibitions across its building in Scuol, Switzerland. The program brings back two former residents, Lena Violetta Leitner and Lika Nüssli, each with a solo exhibition, and introduces a group presentation featuring 22 artists from Visarte Graubünden. The opening runs from 15:00 to 18:00.

According to the institution, the three projects will be installed on separate floors of the house. Leitner’s ‘Para(rt)sitic Protection Society (PPS)’ occupies the ground floor, Nüssli’s ‘Il glim – die Schwelle’ is shown upstairs, and Visarte Graubünden’s ‘Our da l’atelier – Aus dem Atelier’ presents work from members of the regional professional artists’ association. Fundaziun Nairs describes the opening as a reunion for the two artists who previously worked there in residence, and a visit from the region in the case of the Visarte group.

Leitner’s exhibition is her first in Switzerland at Nairs, where she had developed earlier ideas during a residency in 2024. The project centers on a fictional ‘Para(rt)sitic Protection Society’ and presents parasitic strategies as creative, subversive forms of relation rather than exploitative ones. The exhibition is built around an infoterminal, a chatbot, and resting and training stations designed for visitor interaction, extending the work into the digital space of the institution through interventions on the Fundaziun Nairs website. The artist’s page says the project explores relationships between humans, animals, plants and their environment, and uses humor and irony to turn social mechanisms inside out.

Nüssli’s ‘Il glim – die Schwelle’ develops out of her earlier time as a guest artist in Nairs in 2022. The institution says that during that stay she deepened her connection to the site and to the Lower Engadine landscape, and that the experience continues to inform her work. The new installation combines video, drawings, texts and dyed textiles into a spatial work about thresholds, transitions and moments of transformation. Fundaziun Nairs notes that Nüssli’s practice here draws on intuitive rituals in the landscape and on material created during her residency, including drawings, texts, embroideries and fabrics.

The group exhibition ‘Our da l’atelier – Aus dem Atelier’ gathers 22 artists affiliated with Visarte Graubünden and focuses on artistic process. Fundaziun Nairs frames the atelier as the site where artistic work is made and where viewers can gain direct insight into methods and ways of thinking. The exhibition includes unfinished works, models, sketches and material from experimentation, searching and transformation. The list of participating artists on the institution’s site includes Ernestina Abbühl, Flurin Bischoff, Silvia Buol, Sibilla Caflisch, Dario Cavadini, Annatina Dermont, Joachim Florineth, Ladina Gaudenz, Piero Good, Simon Heusser, Jürgen Krusche, Pascal Lampert, Kim Lang, Catrin Lüthi K, Vera Malamud, Anna Neurohr, Christof Rösch, Jérémie Sarbach, Esther Schena, Sandro Steudler, Regula Verdet-Fierz and Katharina Anna Wieser.

The opening program begins at 15:30 with welcomes from director Josiane Imhasly, Regierungsrat Dr. Jon Domenic Parolini, and curators Mia Bodenmüller and Ladina Gaudenz, in the presence of the artists. That will be followed by a performance by Silvia Buol. Fundaziun Nairs says a shuttle bus will run between Scuol-Tarasp station and Nairs, with a five-minute transfer, and gives parking information for visitors arriving by car. The exhibitions are listed as running from 2 August to 29 November 2026, with the house open Wednesday to Sunday, 14:00 to 17:00, and on request.
