EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art is presenting ‘Dialogeja’, an ongoing collection exhibition built from the Saastamoinen Foundation’s art holdings and shaped around the idea of dialogue between works. The display brings together contemporary Finnish and international art, with the curatorial approach centered on pairings and groupings that invite viewers to make connections across media, artists and periods.
According to EMMA’s exhibition page, ‘Dialogeja’ is meant as an open invitation to interpretation and discussion. Rather than organizing the collection as a straightforward chronology or survey, the exhibition uses juxtapositions of artworks to produce different readings. The museum says the presentation emphasizes recent acquisitions, placing newer works in conversation with other pieces from the collection.
The exhibition also includes a media room dedicated to recent media art acquisitions made by the Saastamoinen Foundation. That space extends the collection exhibition beyond the main gallery installation and underlines the foundation’s continuing purchases in contemporary moving-image and digital work. EMMA’s current exhibitions page lists ‘Saastamoisen säätiön kokoelmanäyttely Dialogeja’ among the museum’s permanent or ongoing offerings, alongside other long-running presentations.
The Saastamoinen Foundation describes itself as a partner in art and science in Finland and internationally. Its art collection is presented at EMMA and now contains more than 3,000 works. The foundation traces its collection back to a family collection from the 1910s and says it was established in 1968 to advance society through science and art. EMMA notes that the works in the foundation’s collection are owned by the Saastamoinen family foundation, while the collection’s location is EMMA.
The collection exhibition is on the second floor of the museum and carries the standard admission pricing listed on EMMA’s site: €20 for visitors over 29, €10 for concession groups, free for under-18s and for Museum Card holders. The museum also offers a mobile guide for the exhibition, allowing visitors to explore the works and themes in more detail.
EMMA’s online exhibition materials do not give a single opening or closing date for ‘Dialogeja’, describing it instead as an ongoing presentation. The museum’s calendar shows public guided tours tied to the exhibition in late July and early August 2026, including an evening free-entry tour on 31 July and a public tour on 2 August. A separate guided tour is also listed for Axel Straschnoy’s exhibition on 7 August, but that programme sits outside the collection exhibition itself.
